The Parent Trap star Elaine Hendrix might happily let another lizard crawl around on her face, thank you very much!

In a new interview about her upcoming Freakier Friday cameo opposite fellow Parent Trap star Lindsay Lohan, Hendrix tells Entertainment Weekly she’s willing to shoot a sequel to Disney’s 1998 cinematic remake of the 1961 original — even if it might be difficult for her antagonistic character, Meredith Blake, to find a way back into the story.

“There are always rumors. I don’t know where they come from. I think it’s mostly [from] fans who would love to see that,” Hendrix says when asked about plans for a potential continuation to the film, which saw Lohan play dual roles as twins Hallie and Annie as they prepared for their father’s (Dennis Quaid) unfavorable marriage to Meredith.

Hendrix confirms that she’s yet to hear “anything official” about a second film, and questions, “How would you bring Meredith Blake back into the sequel?” after the girls’ dad broke up with her during the bombastic finale.

“But, I’d be so crushed if she wasn’t part of a sequel,” Hendrix admits, adding that she’d “hands down, in the right situation” join a sequel if the studio asked.

“Clearly there are so many sequels that should have never been made, and I’m not going to name names or titles,” she jokes. “Freakier Friday is definitely not one of them. Our Parent Trap wasn’t a sequel — it was reboot, and definitely should’ve been made. So, yeah, I’d totally be into it. I loved it, that was a great experience from A to Z.”

Of her reunion with Lohan in Freakier Friday, which also stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Hendrix says she’s now in closer contact with Lohan than she ever was before, as she tells EW she didn’t speak much with the child star after The Parent Trap due to a difference in age.

“She lives on the other side of the world and has a family and is busy. We both have full lives, but particularly through social media and texting, we’re staying in touch, which is quite lovely,” Hendrix says. “I’m so happy for her and where she is in her life. It’s nice, in these new chapters of our lives, to be in contact.”

Freakier Friday is in theaters on Aug. 8.
