  • Amanda Seyfried says Paramount still owes her money for Mean Girls merch.
  • “I really love seeing my face on people’s T-shirts,” Seyfried said.
  • She added that she’s “a little resentful” over the matter.

On Wednesdays, you can wear whatever Mean Girls merch you want — as long as Amanda Seyfried gets a check.

The Oscar-nominated actress recently reunited with her Jennifer’s Body costar Adam Brody for Variety‘s Actors on Actors discussion, during which the latter asked Seyfried if she’s “rewatched Mean Girls” since the teen comedy classic’s 2004 release.

“I haven’t. It’s on often enough though. I love it,” the 39-year-old replied. “I really love seeing my face on people’s T-shirts. I’m a little resentful because Paramount still owes me some money.”

When Brody inquired about what she meant, she said that her likeness was used for merchandise.

“Every store sells Mean Girls T-shirts with our faces. Photographs,” Seyfried continued, before asking if she allowed it to happen “because I was 17 and dumb?”

Still, she said she loves the attention the film still brings.

“Even the girl at TSA [recently said], ‘Mean Girls, my favorite movie!” Seyfried recalled. “I’m like, ‘Great, I was 17, I had nothing to do with it.'”

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to representatives for Paramount for comment.

Seyfried and her Mean Girls costars Lindsay Lohan, Lacey Chabert, and Rachel McAdams often field questions about the film 21 years later, with the Long Bright River star even revealing on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast in March that she hopes the film haunts her for eternity.

“Then, it becomes a forever moment, a moment locked in time. A timeless film. Timeless humor,” said.

She continued, “I hope they quote it on my grave. That’s an organic moment. It was, in many ways, a perfect movie, and people relate to it, still. It connected us, and it continues to. I will always be excited to talk about it.”
