NEED TO KNOW

  • Bruce Springsteen and his wife Patti Scialfa celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary on June 8
  • To mark the occasion, Scialfa shared a romantic throwback photo with her husband on Instagram
  • The musical couple, who tied the knot in 1991, share three children together

Bruce Springsteen and his wife Patti Scialfa are celebrating their 34th wedding anniversary.

Springsteen, 75, and Scialfa, 71, got married on June 8, 1991, at their Los Angeles home. In honor of their 34th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Scialfa posted a PDA-filled throwback photo from their first anniversary alongside a message reflecting on their marriage.

“Our one year anniversary…. Bruce surprised me with a beautiful party…..” Scialfa wrote in her Instagram post’s caption. “Today marks 34 years … even though we already had Evan and Jess was on the way…. spent the evening with Bruce Sam and our granddaughter Lily…”

In the photo, the musical couple share a romantic kiss. Scialfa’s hand rests on Springsteen’s neck as the “Dancing In the Dark” singer’s arms wrap around his wife’s waist.

❤❤🥂,” commented Springsteen’s younger sister, Pamela.

The Boss and Scialfa met in the 1980s at The Stone Pony in Asbury Park, New Jersey, where both regularly performed. The pair developed a friendship, which ultimately led to Scialfa joining the music legend and the E Street Band on their 1984 Born in the U.S.A Tour as a backup vocalist. Scialfa has reduced the amount she performs with the group since being diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a blood cancer.

While the two musicians had chemistry on stage, their relationship did not turn romantic until 1988 after Springsteen split from his first wife, Julianne Phillips. The former couple wed in 1985. Phillips filed for divorce in 1988 and their divorce was finalized the following year.

Springsteen and Scialfa quickly fell in love and got married in 1991. They later welcomed three children together: 34-year-old son Evan, 33-year-old daughter Jessica and 31-year-old son Sam.

The longtime couple became grandparents for the first time in 2022, when Sam welcomed his first child, daughter Lily.

A few years ago, Springsteen gushed over his wife to Gayle King during an October 2019 appearance on CBS Mornings.

“We’ve been together for 30 years. That’s a long [time]– you’ve shared a lot,” he said. “You know, Patti’s been at the center of my life for the entire second half of my life … and an enormous amount of guidance and inspiration and you know, I can’t overstate it. You know, it’s I’ve been lucky.”

  • EW chats with Kerri Colby, Nicole Paige Brooks, and Tina Burner for a wild exit interview.
  • Kerri shockingly reveals which legendary RuGirl has an All Stars 10 queen blocked on socials.
  • Nicole admits she had no idea who Chappell Roan was when the guest judge entered the Werk Room.

No, legendary icon Nicole Paige Brooks from Atlanta, Ga., didn’t know who Chappell Roan was when the pop star entered the RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 10 Werk Room — but that’s far from the biggest bombshell that bracket 2’s eliminated queens are serving up H-O-T-T-O-G-O in their fiery exit interview with Entertainment Weekly.

After falling behind in the points-based competition following ace plots mounted by Mistress Isabelle Brooks, Jorgeous, and Lydia Butthole Kollins, queens Kerri Colby, Tina Burner, and Nicole were ousted at the end of the bracket’s run. But, they’re not going quietly, as the trio spice things up with several bombshells in their EW exit interview, including what really happened when Nicole saw the “Pink Pony Club” singer, how Tina grappled with Lydia’s approach to points delegation, and Kerri’s wild reveal of which iconic RuGirl has a current cast member blocked on social media.

RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 10 continues Fridays on Paramount+. Read on for EW’s full exit interview with Kerri, Tina, and Nicole.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Nicole, fans speculated that you had no idea who Chappell Roan was on last week’s episode. Can you confirm?

NICOLE PAIGE BROOKS: I can confirm I’d heard of Chappell Roan. Could I have picked her out of a lineup? No.

KERRI COLBY: Don’t lie. Nicole, how dare you. Just tell him you had no idea who she was!

NICOLE: Okay, I didn’t really know who she was. I have a radio, so I’d heard the song, but I didn’t know who that was. I know who she is now. Now that she’s in the House of Colby, she’s on my radar.

Tina, you seemed upset by Lydia’s perceived betrayal, but she never explicitly said she’d team up with you. Did she, and it wasn’t shown? Why did you feel she’d have your back, despite entering the House of Brooks?

TINA BURNER: Once absorbed, all things were off. I didn’t see it coming.

NICOLE: Let’s call it the MIB household, not the Brooks household.

TINA: There were certain things that happened, Mistress trying to have me do what she and Jorgeous did. I didn’t want a part in it, Lydia entertained it. I have a letter written by Lydia, as we left, saying that Tina didn’t start the drama!

KERRI: Post the receipts!

TINA: There was an agreement that we were there to give the right person the point. She jumped in with Mistress and Jorgeous. I didn’t expect it or think that Lydia could be manipulated.

So, the flirtation didn’t go anywhere? Did you hear from Kori King at all?

TINA: I’m laughing uncomfortably because I’m doing a gig with Kori this Sunday, so I don’t know what’s going to go down.

KERRI: She’ll have a firm handshake for you, from one masculine gentleman to another!

I loved the AS10 rap roast. Megami said she wrote Jorgeous’ verse. Did others have help?

KERRI: People accused me of having others write mine, but I wrote all those mistakes on my own.

NICOLE: There’s a trans group called the Girls, that my baby girl Alyssa Brooks and Domino Presley are part of. They helped me and sang it to me because I needed the beats to practice.

TINA: I sat in a room with Chelsea Piers and Izzy Uncut and bounced some stuff. Most of it, I changed there.

Given Mistress and Jorgeous’ points plot, was there permanent damage done to friendships in this bracket? Has anyone blocked anyone?

KERRI: Well, Sasha Colby blocked Mistress, but that’s a whole other conversation.

‘RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 10’ cast.

Sasha blocked Mistress?

KERRI: At least she was. Let me check if it’s still active. [In a separate interview, Mistress tells EW:”If [Kerri] wants to put that out there, we can get into it. When this happened, Kerri went home and told Sasha a bunch of lies, and Sasha got upset with me. Apparently, Kerri felt like she was the most robbed queen in Drag Race history. Which, if that’s the case, how did you do three challenges and not win one? It’s a prime example of people taking things too seriously. What happened on TV, Kerri brought that drama into the real world, and that’s why I’ll never f— with her…. But, yeah, [Sasha and I] have each other blocked.”]

NICOLE: I didn’t know who Mistress was before meeting her, so there was no previous relationship to be damaged.

TINA: I don’t hold grudges. I realize who people are, after the fact.

NICOLE: I helped her make good television. I’m happy and proud of her. Even if it’s for TV, don’t trust people who do that just for TV.

Do you think it’s worth making good TV at the expense of real emotions?

KERRI: If the goal is to make good TV, you can always figure out a way to do that. To be messy and tilt the whole table with all the food on it and throw it to ruin everyone’s meal, it’ll be good TV, but you have to think about longevity. She’ll be a wonderful shoo-in for House of Villains one day. Maybe that’s her goal. I think she has life lessons to learn, and I’m hoping Drag Race becomes the school for Mistress and teaches her a lesson moving forward.

TINA: It’s one thing to make good TV. I’m all for that. But, when it starts getting personal and things affect people on a personal level, you have to ask, is it worth it? Who are you doing it for? Who hurt you, Mistress?

KERRI: Like sending someone to go comfort someone else because they’re crying, and using that as an opportunity to scheme about points and mess them up more so they don’t have a chance to recover. There are lines of villain-ry. You can pull a stunt and call someone ugly in a roast. You can be shady and dark-sided, but there’s a certain level that, when you start to get personal and use emotional moments to manipulate things, plant seeds, and start narratives, that’s when it starts giving Hannibal Lecter, Jeffrey Dahmer; it’s giving Alcatraz, honey.

NICOLE: What drew me to the show is that the Werk Room shows an accurate dressing room. There’s going to be a queen in there trying to get the show director job, who will lie and scheme. She’ll stab you in the back the second you turn around. On Drag Race, we have cameras everywhere, so we see it played back when we get home. It’s an accurate view of life. Your coworkers don’t have your best intentions at heart; they want to be in charge.

KERRI: Some of us were very broken; we got fully attacked. But, at the same time, instead of a pity party, we showed that you can call your motherf—ing power back to you, and you can handle some business.

Kerri Colby on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 10’.

Paramount/WOW

Nicole and Tina, at the end, you represented that by immediately saying you wanted to give points to Kerri to block Mistress. Why was that the move, instead of going quietly?

NICOLE: I believe it was Tina who put that into my mind, like, we’ve got to get our girl up to the top because she was most likely to succeed out of our group. I was more concerned walking around there like, hey, my one point! Yes, it was to block Mistress, but it was more to support Kerri.

Kerri, Mistress called you a fake bitch when giving her final point to Lydia. We only saw you say that she wasn’t out of the running for a point. Did you ever explicitly promise you’d give her one?

KERRI: Absolutely not. I realized that bitch was going to play all the games with me. As soon as she turned her back on my alliance, I was like, I’m going to fake this one. I told her I’d potentially help her out if she threw me a bone because she had a debt to pay. I didn’t have a debt to pay for her to be crazy, shady, and wrong. She kept saying she’d get me back. From the first offense, it registered, this person isn’t trustworthy. There’s nothing they can do to redeem themselves, so I’ll pull a stunt back. People always ask why I didn’t push back on the first episode, but I had to process. There was trauma. I felt like I was back in middle school, getting bullied by friends that pulled stunts on me and humiliated me at prom just to be funny. I had to process that, and when I did, I was like, let’s see how everything shapes out. If I can be part of what makes or breaks you, consider me a motherf—ing hammer of truth and justice, honey.

Sir Rod Stewart has canceled several upcoming concerts due to an unforeseen illness.

The “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy” singer announced that he is dropping four shows in Nevada from his tour and postponing two shows in California this month after being diagnosed with the flu.

“I have to cancel and reschedule my next six concerts in June as I continue to recover from the flu,” Stewart wrote on Instagram. “So sorry, my friends. I’m devastated and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience to my fans. I’ll be back on stage and will see you soon.”

Stewart canceled three shows at the Colosseum Theater at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas that were scheduled for June 7, June 8, and June 10, and also nixed a June 14 concert at the Lake Tahoe Amphitheatre at Caesars Republic in Stateline, Nev.

The musician also rescheduled his planned June 12 show at the Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage, Calif., for Sept. 20., and rescheduled his June 15 concert at the Vina Robles Amphitheatre in Paso Robles, Calif., for Sept. 21.

Stewart’s next scheduled tour stop is at the Glastonbury Festival in the United Kingdom on June 29. He has dozens of additional shows scheduled across North America, South America, and Europe over the next several months, including four additional shows at Caesars Palace in September and October.

After suggesting that he might leave “the rock & roll stuff behind for a while,” Stewart made a statement in 2023 clarifying that he has no intentions to quit performing live.

“I’d like to clear up any confusion that I may have caused with my dear fans and the media. I shall never retire!” Stewart wrote on Instagram. “I was put on this earth to be a singer and will keep doing so for as long as the good Lord lets me.”

Stewart continued, “I could never turn my back on the songs that I’ve written and sung over the last six decades. They are like my children. I created them and I love them.”

  • Mistress Isabelle Brooks tells EW where she stands with her All Stars 10 sisters now.
  • She reacts to Nicole Paige Brooks and Tina Burner’s plot to oust her on the Main Stage.
  • “I was gagged at how the points were distributed,” Mistress tells EW.

Mistress Isabelle Brooks is the self-proclaimed heavyweight champ of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 10 drama — and she delivered a knockout blow to the competition on Friday’s episode.

Now, in the aftermath of her deliciously devious point-scheming plots and Werk Room rompery (backed by Jorgeous and Lydia Butthole Kollins) with bracket 2’s eliminated contestants Kerri Colby, Tina Burner, and Nicole Paige Brooks, Mistress tells Entertainment Weekly where her relationships with the cast stand today and why she wishes more people would embrace the TV shenanigans.

RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 10 continues Fridays on Paramount+. Read on for Mistress’ full Q&A with EW.

Lydia Butthole Kollins, Jorgeous, Mistress Isabelle Brooks on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 10’.

Paramount+

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Congrats on giving us chaos and strengthening the congenial era. You were also in your mother era on All Stars 10 after adopting Lydia. Is the adoption real?

MISTRESS ISABELLE BROOKS: It’s Lydia Butthole Brooks-Kollins. She’s keeping the B in the middle. That’s daughter, and she doesn’t need much help. She comes to me for emotional support, but it’s real.

What’s the update on daughters Sugar and Spice?

Once in the family, always in the family. We’ve done a lot of gigs together and have some coming up. People forget we’re the same age. We butt heads, and outside of Drag Race, we don’t have that much in common. It’s hard because we don’t live in the same area. We talk here and there, reply to each other’s stories, but we’re not as close as I am to my other daughters, but I always have love for them.

Your and Tina’s relationship also changed this season, including after you lied about her scheming to sabotage Kerri and Nicole’s points. Did you identify Tina early on as someone you wanted to pick at through the season?

It’s not about picking someone I want to poke; it’s a game! I went into everything with no strategy. I’m just literally mentally ill. In any competition, the Davenports, the Brooks, my bloodlines know, the game starts before anyone hits the stage. The worst thing someone can do is think they have it figured out. When you go up to someone and the first thing you say is you’re unbothered, that means you’re bothered and looking out for them. Tina handed me the bullseye target, and put it directly on her big, wide back. I had no choice but to interact.

Jorgeous reminded everyone that RuPaul presented a game, and wanted you to play. Why are queens so afraid of that?

Look at me! I made iconic TV, and I’m getting death threats and hate comments and people saying I’m a bully. You’re going to get backlash. People are always going to not like you for multiple reasons…. The normal Drag Race girl doesn’t want to deal with that. I wish more people would publicly celebrate the shenanigans, because that’s what drag is all about. The sooner people stop crucifying the girls for making good TV, that’s when we’ll get more iconic moments like this. I don’t give a f— about “ruining” people’s lives and acting a fool on TV, because to me it’s just TV. Regardless, I’m always going to be Mistress. It’s always going to be Mistress Monday.

In Kerri’s exit interview, she said she wanted All Stars 10 to be a “life lesson” for you. If relationships were damaged in pursuit of good TV, how do you feel about that?

That’s sweet. I learned a valuable life lesson: If you follow your gut instinct and make good TV, more opportunities will always come and your bank account will double. For any bitch to take this serious, you must not know what you’re signing up for. I think a lot of girls depend on this to make them relevant again and bring back bookings, and I’m not in that position. Drag Race is a game show, a competition reality show. That’s like if we went on Family Feud and I’m f—ing crying because I lost. That sounds stupid as f—. We’re all here to play a game. Are we grateful for the things that come from Drag Race? Of course. It changed my life. But, am I going to sit here and cry? No. I don’t regret anything. I’m not going to let someone tell me I need a life lesson. It’s not that serious. I didn’t slap you across the face or say, “F— your entire lineage.” I kind of did to Nicole. A lot of girls are amplifying it, but it’s just a game.

You called the season Nicole Paige Brooks vs. the World. After the initial moment of gagging her by not giving her your point, she looked upset. How angry was she in the room?

Before that moment, I wasn’t saying a f—ing word in the Werk Room. People misread my actions. When I’m mad, the best course of action is to not speak to me, because I’m a hot head. I was mad and trying to get my thoughts in order, so I wasn’t saying anything. That’s why Kerri and Nicole were going on and on about exchanging points. So, when I finally took the point, everyone on set’s mouth was on the floor. Rewatch the clip. Lydia and Nicole look at the producers like, Did that just happen? That’s why Jorgeous and I were laughing, because it worked. It was so stupid and ridiculous. Nicole was hot, but I don’t blame her. My mind truly amazes me.

Mistress Isabelle Brooks on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 10’.

Paramount/WOW

How did you feel about Tina and Nicole scheming to block you from the top by giving Kerri points?

I didn’t hear that [on set]! I was gagged at how the points were distributed. Of course I want to win the crown, but we’ve heard time and time again, losing is the new winning. I would’ve loved if they ganged up on me and I didn’t make it. Bitch, that would’ve been a kiki. I don’t understand why people were mad at me for the points. I didn’t steal Kerri’s point; Jorgeous stole Kerri’s point. I took Nicole’s point. People misguide their anger and feelings toward me. I’m here for the s—s and giggles. If they pulled that off and got Kerri together, I would’ve lived. Face-cracked.

You called Kerri a fake bitch for giving her point away. What’s your relationship like now?

Kerri and I are frenemies. I love her. I have no issues. Maybe I have borderline personality disorder. I can leave it in TV land…. This doesn’t matter for me. I do so much content and run businesses. This is a drop in the pond. This is one of the projects I’m doing. That’s where the disconnect is. Some people’s lives solely revolve around this, and I’m blessed that’s not the case for me. I’m good with Kerri and I know what happened is just in make-believe land. She’s very emotional, and watching the episodes, I think she’s getting upset all over again. I’m hoping after this ends, she realizes how loved she is. I meant what I said about being her Texas sister. If I was in the bottom last week, I would’ve given her my point — also because I would’ve loved her to make it through with Jorgeous and I, because I know Kerri would flop at the end.

Kerri Colby on ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 10’.

Paramount/WOW

That makes me feel bad that I now have to ask: Kerri said in her exit interview that Sasha Colby blocked you. Is that true?

I don’t look for certain people’s social media stuff. I have a social media manager.

I had to clarify after Willam said on X that you were removed from the season 15 group chat.

If [Kerri] wants to put that out there, we can get into it. But, yeah, [Sasha and I] have each other blocked.

The Indianapolis Colts’ safety, 26, and his wife Lalaine welcomed their first baby together, daughter Laila Glo Bynum, on Tuesday, May 6 at 1:05 p.m. Their baby girl came into the world weighing 7 lbs., 12 oz. and measuring 20 inches long.

“As first-time parents, we are feeling extremely blessed, [and] a little sleepy, but our hearts are so full having our sweet baby girl here to love on,” the newly minted mom tells PEOPLE. “Everything is still so new, but we are all adjusting together.”

The arrival of their little girl didn’t come without it’s own challenges. The couple, who tied the knot in May 2023, originally planned to have a home birth. However, after being in active labor for nine hours, they made the decision to go to a hospital.

“It was unexpected and longer than I thought it would be. Our plan was to have a natural water birth at home. But God had other plans for us,” Camryn says. “After being in active labor and pushing for 9 hours at home, pain and exhaustion put us at a standstill. The baby’s positioning got funky, which made the pain increase, and the baby was no longer moving down.”

“Laine listened to her body and knew that for the sake of her and the baby’s health, it was best to transfer to the nearest hospital,” he explains. “Shortly after arriving at the hospital, the baby’s heart rate began to fluctuate and drop to the point where something had to be done quickly. She ended up having an emergency C-section. The pain from the surgery and trauma that her body had to go through is real, and she’s embracing the healing process and reminding herself that she doesn’t need to rush to go back to reality.”

The professional football player tells PEOPLE that postpartum recovery is “essential” for the new family of three.

“She can take her time healing physically and emotionally. It was a true testament to our faith and trusting in God’s plan over our own,” he says. “We started with the plan of having a natural birth, but everything took a complete turn, and God knew what was best for our Family. Laine and the baby were completely healthy and ultimately the process in itself was one of the biggest blessings ever.”

As the Bynums settle into their new normal, Camryn notes he feels prepared for this new chapter in his life.

“Growing up around so many babies my whole life has prepared me for these moments of being a first-time parent,” he tells PEOPLE. “My Instagram algorithm has also been a huge part of preparing me for fatherhood.”

He describes the adjustment to being a family of three as “beautiful,” even though the sleep schedule for the new parents has been challenging.

“It’s been a beautiful adjustment from it being just the two of us, and now we’re a family of three. The sleep schedule is tough sometimes, but the happiness of it being my own baby makes it impossible for me to be tired,” he says, jokingly adding, “But then again, I’m not the one breastfeeding and burping Laila every 2 hours in the middle of the night.”

As for Lalaine, she agrees with Camryn, saying that the transition into motherhood has been a “major adjustment.” However, she tells PEOPLE that she is surrounded by support from her family.

“The first couple of weeks have been a major adjustment, but being able to give birth to our daughter in California and being surrounded by our family to help us with Laila has been such a huge blessing and made it a lot easier for both of us,” she says.

Sarah Jessica Parker had no idea that fans disliked a certain divisive And Just Like That character.

The actress behind Carrie Bradshaw says she was “shocked” to learn that some audiences detested Che Diaz, Sara Ramírez’s nonbinary stand-up comedian, who served as a new love interest for Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) on the Sex and the City follow-up series.

“A friend of mine brought it up to me, and it’s like: ‘What are you talking about?'” Parker recalled in a new interview with The Guardian. “And he said: ‘Yeah, there’s all this conversation.'”

Parker explained that she seldom takes note of backlash against her projects. “I’ve been an actor for 50 years, and I’ve almost never paid attention to peripheral chatter,” she said, adding that she had a good time on set with Ramírez. “I loved working with them.”

Ramírez ultimately left the show after season 2, in which their character and Miranda called it quits, with the actor sharing a statement distancing themself from Che before their departure.

“I am not the fictional characters I have played, nor am I responsible for the things that are written for them to say,” Ramírez wrote on Instagram. “I am a human being, an artist, an actor. And we are living in a world that has become increasingly hostile toward anyone who dares to free themselves from the gender binary, or disrupt the mainstream.”

Before their exit, Ramírez told Entertainment Weekly that they’re “actually nothing like” Che Diaz. “It was absolutely exhausting to bring this person to life,” the actor explained. “I had to stay in a bit of an extroverted mode in order to do that. So the efforts that it took to bring this character forth makes me feel really proud of what I’ve been able to deliver.”

Ramírez also noted that they were happy that Che inspired such extreme feelings in viewers. “I love that people have passionate opinions, that Che struck a nerve,” they said. “I think it’s really interesting to play a person who elicits such strong reactions and who can start much-needed conversations. If the storylines created major watercooler moments after each episode, then we did our job.”

Nixon acknowledged Ramírez’s departure in a different interview with EW last year. “I miss Sara,” the actress said. “I mean, Sara and I are in quite a lot of touch about Palestine and what’s happening. And so we talk quite a bit. And they came to my opening night of my play [The Seven Year Disappear], which was really lovely.”

However, the Gilded Age star noted that her onscreen relationship with Ramírez’s character didn’t have much left to offer the show. “I think for Miranda, Miranda and Che were really pretty done,” Nixon said. “I think that Miranda and Che had kind of run the gamut of what they were going to be to each other.”

Nixon later told EW that she thinks And Just Like That works best when more of its central characters are free from long-term relationships.

“I think our show is always at its most quintessential when as many of us as possible are single and dating and failing at it,” the actress said, adding that she was thrilled to bring guest star Rosie O’Donnell into the AJLT fold as a one-night stand for Miranda in season 3.

“Rosie and I have known each other for a long time,” she said. “I was like, ‘Shall I text her?’ And [showrunner Michael Patrick King] was like, ‘Sure!’ And she was wonderfully excited about the prospect, so we had a great time.”

NEED TO KNOW

  • Giada De Laurentiis took to Instagram this weekend to share a sweet picture with her boyfriend, Shane Farley
  • The picture is from a Pa. wedding and the pair posed by a red tractor
  • This year marks the couple’s 10-year anniversary after meeting in 2013 and starting to date in 2015

Giada De Laurentiis and her boyfriend of nearly a decade are still looking madly in love.

The celebrity chef shared a selfie with Shane Farley on her Instagram Stories on Sunday, June 8.

The couple appears to be full of love in the new photograph, which was taken at a wedding in Hershey, Pa. It is not clear whose nuptials they were celebrating in the picture.

In the sweet shot, Farley, a TV producer, is smiling and pointing to a bright-red tractor in the corner of the photo. He wore a white collared shirt, striped grey jacket and tortoiseshell glasses. Meanwhile, the Super-Italian cookbook author was photographed in glamorous black sunglasses and a white jacket.

De Laurentiis and Farley started dating in 2015 but met in 2013 over a business meeting. Farley was hired to produce a talk show with De Laurentiis and her friend and fellow Food Network star, Bobby Flay. Although the talk show didn’t come to fruition, Farley and De Laurentiis remained friends.

“I just thought she was really smart and funny and I thought, ‘God, she would be a great host for a show,'” he previously told PEOPLE about their initial meeting.

Lately, another one of the Giadzy founder’s loves has taken most of her attention: her 17-year-old daughter, Jade.

The restaurateur recently spoke with PEOPLE about the college road trip she and Jade took in March.

“Because she’s 17, there isn’t a ton of time for me,” De Laurentiis said. ”Sometimes I feel like she’s sort of in a living in a hotel at my house, you know, she’s in and she’s out, and she has such a full life.”

De Laurentiis explained that she’s struggling with the idea of empty nesting and said, “As a mom, you spend all 18 years of your life sort of cracking your schedule around her, you know your child and their needs, and all of a sudden it’s all going to be gone.”

She continued, “And I don’t know it’s really scary. It scares the s— out of me, to be honest.”

The mother-daughter duo will have some time apart this summer as Jade will be living in New York for two theater camps, De Laurentiis said.

The Food Network alum shares Jade with her ex-husband, Todd Thompson, whom she divorced in 2014.

Bryce Dallas Howard is reflecting on her not-so-nice collaboration with a contentious filmmaker.

The Jurassic World star detailed her nasty exchange with polarizing Danish director Lars von Trier on the 2005 drama Manderlay in a new interview with British outlet The Times

Howard said that as soon as she arrived in Norway to begin filming the project, the director began talking smack about her dad, Ron Howard, to try to get under her skin. “He started insulting me: ‘Your father’s a terrible filmmaker,'” she recalled von Trier saying. “I went, ‘Lars, what are you trying to see?’ and he said, ‘Your angry face. I don’t know what it looks like.'”

Howard claimed that von Trier then splashed a glass of water in her face after trying to piss her off with his rude remarks. “So I threw a glass of water in his face,” she said. “He goes, ‘Why did you do that?’ and got up and left.”

Representatives for von Trier did not immediately respond to Entertainment Weekly‘s request for comment.

Howard added that despite the presumed aggression of the interaction, she was somewhat amused by it. “That was my introduction to the Lars von Trier experience, but it wasn’t like I went to my room and cried or anything,” she said. “I was sort of delighted by it.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Howard explained how her connection with her acclaimed father has impacted her ability to find acting work. “I happen to be in a situation where there are multiple layers of privilege,” she admitted, noting that Ron Howard’s parents, Rance and Jean Speegle Howard, were also actors. “So I got to have access in a way that, even if you were born into it, most people wouldn’t.”

The actress-director reiterated that her family has been a boon for her Hollywood trajectory. “At the beginning of my career people would ask — and I was always so shocked by this — ‘Do you feel it’s been a disadvantage?'” she recalled.’ “And I was like, ‘Disadvantage?’ When you’re an actor, you need to capture a casting director or director’s attention, but when you’re someone who’s related to someone else, there’s an inherent curiosity there.”

Howard also shared her reaction to watching her dad return to acting on Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg’s Apple TV+ comedy, The Studio, in which the child-star-turned-director played a grumpier version of himself. “I was nervous for him. They shoot everything as a one-er [one-shot take] and you can’t really fumble-bumble anything, but he was so dialed in,” she said. “It was really fun being behind the monitor and hearing Evan and Seth get so excited. It just made me really proud of him.”

NEED TO KNOW

  • Sam Nivola, son of actors Emily Mortimer and Alessandro Nivola, addressed his “nepo baby” label in an interview for Variety‘s Actors on Actors with Cooper Koch
  • Despite their own long careers, Sam’s parents discouraged him from following in their footsteps
  • Sam recently starred as Lochlan Ratliff in the third season of The White Lotus

Sam Nivola is addressing his “nepo baby” label.

The actor sat down with Cooper Koch for Variety‘s Actors on Actors, where they both shared their experiences on their respective recent projects: Koch’s Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story and Nivola’s The White Lotus.

Nivola is the son of actors Emily Mortimer and Alessandro Nivola, both of whom have long careers on screen. The White Lotus actor shared that both his parents actually advised him against following in their footsteps.

“My whole thing was that my parents really didn’t want me to be an actor, which I totally get — I don’t know if I’d want my kid to be an actor,” Nivola, 21, admitted. “It’s a really mentally tough career to be in.”

He continued, “Even if I had no success, I would want to be doing it. But they really didn’t want me to do it.”

Nivola has appeared in a number of big projects in recent years, including The Perfect Couple and White Noise — the latter in which Sam’s sister, May Rose, also featured. Their parents were “green with envy” that they’d be spending so much time with Adam Driver and Greta Gerwig. But still, Alessandro told PEOPLE in 2021 that acting “definitely wasn’t something we were encouraging” for their children.

The film’s director, Noah Baumbach, went to Sam and May’s school, seeking children to cast in the film, Alessandro said. Baumbach was thrilled at the opportunity to cast the two Nivola children, he added.

Never miss a story — sign up for PEOPLE’s free daily newsletter to stay up-to-date on the best of what PEOPLE has to offer, from celebrity news to compelling human interest stories.

“At that point, it felt cruel to tell them they couldn’t do it because it was such a high-class project,” Alessandro said.

Sam and May never enlisted their parents for acting advice, though. “They never come to me for advice for anything,” Alessandro said with a laugh. “They haven’t even asked me once to read through a scene with them.”

Alessandro and Mortimer — who most recently featured in Kraven the Hunter and Paddington in Peru, respectively — wed in 2003.

  • Phineas and Ferb is officially returning to the Disney Channel after wrapping its fourth season in 2015.
  • The revival has been greenlit for 40 episodes, split into two seasons.
  • Vincent Martella, Ashley Tisdale, Dan Povenmire, and Alyson Stoner will reprise their roles.

Summer vacation is officially back. Nearly 10 years after Phineas and Ferb wrapped up its epic four-season run on the Disney Channel, the animated series is bringing back many of the original voices for 40 new episodes.

The new season of the Emmy-winning series will stick to the classic formula, following brilliant stepbrothers Phineas (Vincent Martella) and Ferb (David Errigo Jr.) as they enjoy another 104 days of summer adventures. Meanwhile, Candace (Ashley Tisdale) remains determined to find someone — anyone — who will stop her inventive little brothers once and for all.

Also returning? Their pet platypus, Perry (Dee Bradley Baker), who continues his double life as the suave Agent P, who’s always one step ahead of Dr. Doofenshmirtz (Dan Povenmire), the bumbling evil scientist trying to take over the Tri-State Area.

Joining Martella and Tisdale are several familiar voices, including Caroline Rhea, Alyson Stoner, Richard O’Brien, and more. Plus, season 5 will feature a surprising array of guest voices from the likes of Michael Bublé, Alan Cumming, Anna Faris, and John Stamos.

Need a refresher? Here’s your guide to the Phineas and Ferb revival’s cast and characters.

Vincent Martella as Phineas Flynn

Chances are you know Vincent Martella best by his voice, especially as Phineas on Phineas and Ferb and Hope Estheim in the Final Fantasy video game series (2010–2013). But he’s also popped up in front of the camera in Everybody Hates Chris (2005–2009), Role Models (2008), and AMC’s The Walking Dead (2013-2014).

Martella reprises his role as Phineas, the ever-optimistic and creative young boy who’s always dreaming up his next big summer project.

Speaking at a press conference (via Temple of Geek), Martella spoke about what it’s like to get back into character. “I’ve played Phineas for 17, 18 years now. So, Phineas has been a huge, huge part of my life,” he shared. “But the first record that I ever had coming back to do new episodes of the show was definitely an emotional experience. I was really, really moved and excited because, like I said, I mean, 17, 18 years is a really long time to do anything.”

Ashley Tisdale as Candace Flynn

Candace on ‘Phineas and Ferb; Ashley Tisdale attends the premiere of ‘Phineas and Ferb’ on May 31, 2025, in Los Angeles.

Actress and singer Ashley Tisdale helped define a generation of Disney magic as Maddie on The Suite Life of Zack & Cody (2005–2008) and Sharpay Evans in the High School Musical films (2006–2008).

More recently, she appeared on Merry Happy Whatever (2019), Carol’s Second Act (2019–2020), and The Masked Dancer (2020–2021), on which she served as a panelist.

Tisdale returns to voice older sister Candace on Phineas and Ferb, who spends most of her time striving to get them in trouble for their daily escapades.

“She’s such a great character to play,” Tisdale told EW back in 2020. “There’s just so much creative freedom; there’s no limit to her.”

David Errigo Jr. as Ferb Fletcher

Ferb on ‘Phineas and Ferb’; David Errigo Jr. attends Entertainment Weekly’s Annual Comic-Con Bash on July 27, 2024, in San Diego.

David Errigo Jr. is no stranger to voice acting, having made a name for himself by lending his voice to several big-name characters. Notable voiceover roles include Tails on Sonic for Hire (2023), the trickster Mister Mxyzptlk on My Adventures with Superman (2023), and both Gladiator and Banshee on X-Men ’97 (2024).

His standout role as Dudley the Dodo on Netflix’s Ridley Jones (2021–2023) earned him a Children’s and Family Emmy nomination for Outstanding Voice Performance.

Errigo Jr. brings his talents to Phineas and Ferb as the voice of Ferb Fletcher, the clever and resourceful stepbrother to Phineas and Candace. He first took over the role from Thomas Brodie-Sangster in a 2018 crossover episode of Milo Murphy’s Law, and later reprised it in Phineas and Ferb the Movie: Candace Against the Universe (2020).

Caroline Rhea as Linda Flynn-Fletcher

Linda on ‘Phineas and Ferb; Caroline Rhea attends ‘The Little Pageant That Could’ benefit screening on May 21, 2025, in Los Angeles.

For many, Caroline Rhea will always be Aunt Hilda, the fun, chaotic witch from Sabrina the Teenage Witch (1996–2003). But her career extends beyond the cauldron, with roles in family favorites like Sydney to the Max (2019–2021) and Lopez vs Lopez (2022).

She’s no stranger to hosting, either, taking the lead on shows like The Biggest Loser (2004–2006), Cake Walk: Wedding Cake Edition (2011), and Caroline & Friends (2018).

Before stepping into the Phineas and Ferb universe, she shared the screen with Tisdale on The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, playing strict German hotel inspector-turned-manager Ilsa in season 1.

Now, Rhea is back as Linda Flynn-Fletcher, Phineas and Candace’s caring (and often clueless) mom who, once upon a time, was a pop sensation named Lindana.

On the red carpet at the Phineas and Ferb revival premiere, the actress shared what she loves most about playing Linda. “I enjoy that I was a famous rock star and had my one-hit-wonder,” she joked, adding, “I love that my own daughter is a teenager, so I love that I get to project that onto Candace!”

Richard O’Brien as Lawrence Fletcher

Lawrence on ‘Phineas and Ferb’; Richard O’Brien attends ‘Rocky Horror Show’ gala night on Sept. 10, 2024, in London.

Grammy-nominated superstar Richard O’Brien is a true jack-of-all-trades, having worked as an actor, writer, presenter, singer, and musician. He’s the twisted mind behind The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1973) and its follow-up, Shock Treatment (1981), starring as Riff Raff and Dr. Cosmo McKinley, respectively.

O’Brien has flexed his quirky charm in a number of oddball films, from the spacey camp of Flash Gordon (1980) to Spice World (1997), Dungeons & Dragons (2000), and Elvira’s Haunted Hills (2001).

O’Brien returns to lend his voice to Lawrence Fletcher, Ferb’s sweet but absent-minded dad.

Dee Bradley Baker as Perry the Platypus

Perry the Platypus on ‘Phineas and Ferb; Dee Bradley Baker attends the premiere of ‘Phineas and Ferb’ on May 31, 2025, in Los Angeles.

Dee Bradley Baker is a vocal chameleon — if it growls, squeaks, slithers, or squawks, there’s a good chance he’s behind it. One of the most prolific voice actors in the business, Baker has made a career out of bringing animals, creatures, and the occasional chaotic alien to life. Naturally, voicing Perry the Platypus is right up his alley.

Some of his most notable credits include Space Jam (1996), SpongeBob SquarePants (1999–present), American Dad! (2005–present), Avatar: The Last Airbender (2005–2008), Adventure Time (2010–2018), and Muppet Babies (2018–2022).

Baker returns as Perry, the Flynn-Fletcher family’s pet platypus who moonlights as a secret agent for the all-animal spy group O.W.C.A. (Organization Without a Cool Acronym).

At the Phineas and Ferb season 5 premiere, Baker reflected on the deeper meaning behind the fan-favorite character. “Perry the Platypus means to me kind of what the show means to me, which is the triumph of a good person,” he said. “A can-do, smart, helpful, empathetic… good person. There’s something optimistic about him, always triumphing over any adversity, and that’s inspiring.”

Alyson Stoner as Isabella Garcia-Shapiro

Isabella on ‘Phineas and Ferb’; Alyson Stoner attends the premiere of ‘Phineas and Ferb’ on May 31, 2025, in Los Angeles.

Like Tisdale, Alyson Stoner’s work on the Disney Channel made them a part of so many childhoods. You might remember Stoner as Max on The Suite Life of Zack & Cody (2005–2007), where they shared the screen with Tisdale. But their breakout moment was as Caitlyn, an aspiring music producer in Camp Rock (2008) and its sequel, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010).

Outside of Disney, though, Stoner lit up the screen in Cheaper by the Dozen (2003) and its 2005 sequel, and showed off serious moves in the Step Up franchise (2006–2014).

More recently, Stoner has been using their platform to hold serious conversations about the enduring impact of growing up in the spotlight. They hosted the Dear Hollywood podcast in 2023 and made an appearance in Child Star, Demi Lovato’s 2024 documentary about growing up in the spotlight.

Stoner is also the co-founder and CEO of Movement Genius, a digital wellness platform offering “live and on-demand classes to help you improve your mental, emotional, and physical well-being.”

Stoner reprises their role as Isabella on Phineas and Ferb, the confident leader of the Fireside Girls Troop and Phineas and Ferb’s lovestruck neighbor who has a major crush on Phineas.

The actor shared that one of their favorite things about Isabella is the character’s ability to “switch to commander mode and be in charge of the Fireside Girls, but then she also can immediately be overwhelmed with adoration for Phineas in the next breath.”

Bobby Gaylor as Buford Van Stomm

Writer and voice actor Bobby Gaylor has been in the business for decades, first gaining fame with the spoken-word album Fuzzatonic Scream (1999), a raw and witty release that earned him a cult following. He took advantage of the attention and ran with it, carving out a solid career in TV and animation.

While he’s best known for Phineas and Ferb, Gaylor has lent his writing talents to fan-favorite shows like Roseanne (1996), The Bernie Mac Show (2002–2003), The Snoopy Show (2021–2022), and SpongeBob SquarePants (2023–2024).

Gaylor is back as the voice of Buford Van Stomm, the tough-on-the-outside, soft-on-the-inside “bully” who’s more frenemy than foe to Phineas, Ferb, and the gang.

Maulik Pancholy is an actor and award-winning writer who won a 2023 Lambda Literary Award for Nikhil Out Loud (2022), which follows a group of eighth-grade theater kids taking a stand against homophobia in their town.

On the acting side, Pancholy has had a standout career with memorable roles like Sanjay on Weeds (2005–2012), Jonathan (Jack Donaghy’s devoted assistant) on 30 Rock (2006–2012), and Arnav on Only Murders in the Building (2021).

Up next, he’s set to star in an upcoming A24 musical comedy from Jesse Eisenberg.

Pancholy reprises his role as Baljeet Tjinder, Phineas and Ferb’s intellectual neighbor and good friend.

One half of the creative duo behind Phineas and Ferb is Dan Povenmire, a true animation all-star with decades in the industry.

While he’s worked on several popular shows over the years, he’s best known for co-creating Phineas and Ferb with Jeff “Swampy” Marsh. Povenmire is also the creative force behind Hamster & Gretel, a Disney Channel superhero comedy starring his real-life daughter, Meli.

Povenmire is back as the voice of Dr. Heinz “Doof” Doofenshmirtz, a hopelessly inept evil scientist with a flair for the dramatic and a knack for building bizarre inventions in his quest to take over the Tri-State Area.

The other half of the team that started it all is Jeff “Swampy” Marsh. Before co-creating Phineas and Ferb and and Milo’s Murphy Law (2016–2019) with Povenmire, Marsh worked on a number of animated programs, including Rocko’s Modern Life (1993–1996) and King of the Hill (1997–2000).

Marsh is back as the voice of the ever-serious Major Francis Monogram, head of the O.W.C.A. and Perry’s boss.

Tyler Alexander Mann is likely best known for his role as Carl on Phineas and Ferb, but he’s also popped up in live-action roles, including one-episode appearances on Weeds (2010) and Modern Family (2011), the latter of which cast him as a character credited only as “Nerd.”

Mann returns to voice Carl, Major Monogram’s unpaid intern in the O.W.C.A. His job? Filming the mustached man when he’s being interviewed and talking to Perry.

Olivia Olson as Vanessa Doofenshmirtz

Olivia Olson has a fun bit of history with her former Phineas and Ferb costar Brodie-Sangster — they shared the screen years earlier in Love Actually (2003). Brodie-Sangster played Sam, a boy who falls in love with his American classmate, Joanna, played by Olson. And yes, spoiler alert, she kisses him on the cheek at the end of the movie.

A proud nepo baby (her dad is writer-producer Martin Olson), Olson has made a name for herself in the world of animation and beyond. She’s largely known for Phineas and Ferb and Adventure Time (2010–2018), but she’s also made waves behind the scenes.

Olson co-wrote the Marcy and Simon graphic novel, had a hand in writing Adventure Time: The Enchiridion & Marcy’s Super-Secret Scrapbook, and contributed to the best-selling The Adventure Time Encyclopædia. She’s also part of the writing team for the Phineas and Ferb revival.

Speaking of which, Olson reprises her role as Vanessa Doofenshmirtz, Heinz and Charlene’s sarcastic and sharp teenage daughter.
