Billy Bush is sharing an update hours after Kelley Wolf was detained by police and taken to a hospital in Utah.

In an Instagram video on June 13, the Extra host, 53, shared that he is good friends with Kelley’s estranged husband, actor Scott Wolf. Scott and Kelley announced their split after 21 years of marriage earlier this week and share three kids: Jackson, 16, Miller, 12, and Lucy, 11.

“I know both Kelley and Scott very, very well,” Bush said. “Scott is truly one of my very best friends, and was just here recently watching the Masters with his children. We went to the LAFC soccer game with the kids.” 

He called Scott “the kindest, sweetest person,” adding, “He’s everything you see and think you know about him when you see him. He is all of that and more.”

“And Kelley is getting the help she needs,” Bush noted. “And I can tell you, I talked to her, talked to her myself, one on one personally about it. She’s got excellent parents. They’re on it.” 

“She’s a beautiful person, and so is Scott,” he adds.

Bush’s message comes hours after Kelley, 48, was detained and handcuffed by sheriffs in Utah County, Utah.

Law enforcement announced in a press release that Kelley was admitted to a local hospital after being detained. 

In a statement, authorities said, “Deputies responded to the Sundance Resort for a report of a female that needed some help. Upon speaking with the female, our Deputies learned that she had made concerning comments to a family member, and she also made similar comments to our Deputies.”

“For that reason, our Deputies transported the female to a local hospital.”

Following the incident, Kelley posted a photo on Instagram Stories, which showed her belongings in what appeared to be a hospital room.  

“This is horrible,” Kelley wrote in block text across the post. “I have been taken against my will. Please check on my kids.”

She added, “Also… I am happy!! Happier than I have ever been.”

Kelley continued, “I have NO idea why or how this is happening in AMERICA. I am compliant, calm and respectful, and hopefully this is all sorted very quickly. In the meantime, be kind to each other. This is one of the darkest things I’ve ever experienced.”

Kelley has not responded to requests for comment from PEOPLE, and a rep for Scott did not immediately respond.

The incident first came to light when Kelley shared a video on her Instagram Live, which was subsequently posted to her main account, where she was seen being detained by authorities.

“Oh my God. Don’t. Oh my God, this is not happening,” he mother of three said in the video, which only showed a black screen until the very end of the clip, when she is seen with Utah County sheriffs deputies. 

“This is shameful, gentlemen,” Kelley said. “Look at this, look at this woman, this is shameful. Be ashamed, be ashamed of yourselves, gentlemen.”

One officer explained to Kelley that she is “not going to jail” and that they are going to get her “some help.” She then replied, “I know what I’m doing, I’ve done this. This is my job.”

The deputy was then heard telling Kelley that she had “made some comments to your dad and comments to people that are concerning,” so they “want to make sure you’re okay.”

After Kelley was informed by another officer that her phone was recording, she said she “didn’t mean to” record and asked that the phone be turned off.

Kelly Rowland is remembering Ananda Lewis.

The Destiny’s Child member shared a moving tribute to the MTV VJ on her X account alongside a portrait of Lewis, who died of breast cancer on June 11 at age 52.

“I have the most amazing Memories of Ananda Lewis! Interviews, yeah! But by far is us singing Together at a SADE concert, at THE TOP of Our lungs! We both left hoarse, but did not care!” Rowland, 44, began.

“Her spirit, SOUL, her …..she was just an ALL Around cool, beautiful, FLY woman! I am at a loss for words! BUT SENDING her LOVED ONES, my Love And prayers!”

Lewis’ death was announced by her sister Lakshmi in a Facebook post after living with stage IV breast cancer. “She’s free, and in His heavenly arms ,” she captioned a picture of the music personality. “Lord, rest her soul.”

Lewis became well-known in the late 1990s when she was a VJ on Total Request Live and Hot Zone for MTV. She left MTV to host her own talk show, The Ananda Lewis Show, in 2001, which lasted for one season.

Later in her career, she hosted on the Entertainment Tonight spinoff The Insider, A&E’s America’s Top Dog and TLC’s While You Were Out, along with appearing on Celebrity Mole: Yucatán. Lewis was also a contractor and a carpenter.

Throughout her tenure in the media, Lewis interviewed Brandy, *NSYNC and Britney Spears among other major stars.

In 2020, Lewis revealed in an Instagram post that she was diagnosed with stage III breast cancer, mentioning that she was not getting mammograms regularly due to a fear of radiation.

In October 2024, she took part in a roundtable discussion with CNN anchor Sara Sidner and CNN’s Stephanie Elam, the latter of whom had been her friend since college. During their discussion, she shared that she went against medical advice and did not undergo a double mastectomy, opting for a more holistic healing approach.

“My plan at first was to get out excessive toxins in my body. I felt like my body is intelligent, I know that to be true. Our bodies are brilliantly made,” Lewis said at the time.

“I decided to keep my tumor and try to work it out of my body a different way,” she added. “Looking back on that, I go, ‘You know what? Maybe I should have.’ “

Lewis is survived by her teenage son Langston.
