Nunn and Payne wed in 2012 and welcomed their only child, daughter Journey Ruth Payne, on April 16, 2017.
One month after giving birth to Journey, Nunn told Rolling Out that though her pregnancy was “hard,” as she “had morning sickness the entire time,” her journey with motherhood was already “amazing.”
“She’s so precious and so sweet, and I just want to hold her like this all day long,” Nunn said of Journey, who she was cradling on her chest during the interview.
Nunn added that Payne “was more hands-on than me” during her pregnancy.
“If any guy could be pregnant, Jacob would have been pregnant. He carried Journey just as much as I did — the whole nine months. He didn’t miss a doctor’s appointment, he didn’t miss a class we took and he’s been really hands-on,” she said. “He’s been really amazing.”
In April 2025, Journey turned 8 years old, celebrating with a Dog Man-themed party.
“Today is your day!” her parents captioned a slideshow on Instagram from Journey’s big day. “Mommy and daddy love you so much I can’t believe you’re already 8! 🎉🎉🎉🎉.”

Nunn wanted her daughter to have a name that started with a “J,” just like her dad, Jacob, she told Rolling Out.
The entrepreneur considered Jasmine, Jackie and other “beautiful names,” but said “they just weren’t really hitting.”
When considering names, Nunn’s mom brought up her daughter’s difficult pregnancy.
“My mom was like, well, this has been such a journey for you, what about Journey?” Nunn recalled. “And I was like, ‘Oh my God, her name’s Journey.’ ”
She is homeschooled
