Rod Stewart cancels upcoming concerts due to illness: ‘I’m devastated’

Sir Rod Stewart has canceled several upcoming concerts due to an unforeseen illness.

The “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy” singer announced that he is dropping four shows in Nevada from his tour and postponing two shows in California this month after being diagnosed with the flu.

“I have to cancel and reschedule my next six concerts in June as I continue to recover from the flu,” Stewart wrote on Instagram. “So sorry, my friends. I’m devastated and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience to my fans. I’ll be back on stage and will see you soon.”

Stewart canceled three shows at the Colosseum Theater at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas that were scheduled for June 7, June 8, and June 10, and also nixed a June 14 concert at the Lake Tahoe Amphitheatre at Caesars Republic in Stateline, Nev.

The musician also rescheduled his planned June 12 show at the Agua Caliente Casino in Rancho Mirage, Calif., for Sept. 20., and rescheduled his June 15 concert at the Vina Robles Amphitheatre in Paso Robles, Calif., for Sept. 21.

Stewart’s next scheduled tour stop is at the Glastonbury Festival in the United Kingdom on June 29. He has dozens of additional shows scheduled across North America, South America, and Europe over the next several months, including four additional shows at Caesars Palace in September and October.

After suggesting that he might leave “the rock & roll stuff behind for a while,” Stewart made a statement in 2023 clarifying that he has no intentions to quit performing live.

“I’d like to clear up any confusion that I may have caused with my dear fans and the media. I shall never retire!” Stewart wrote on Instagram. “I was put on this earth to be a singer and will keep doing so for as long as the good Lord lets me.”

Stewart continued, “I could never turn my back on the songs that I’ve written and sung over the last six decades. They are like my children. I created them and I love them.”
